Applications are invited for a tenure-track faculty position in Emergency and Critical Care at the level of Assistant/Associate/Full
Professor in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences. This position is available July 1, 2019 but the start date is negotiable.
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate include: high quality didactic and clinical instruction in Emergency and Critical Care to undergraduate and postgraduate veterinarians,
residents, interns and veterinary technicians; supervisory and organizational oversight for the full service Emergency Service and Intensive Care Unit; supervisory case management and consultation for emergency and critical care cases presenting to the Veterinary
Medical Centre, and research and scholarship in the field of Emergency and Critical Care. Contributions to the continuing education of practicing veterinarians will be encouraged and expected. A strong primary and referral emergency caseload which is enhanced
by the newly opened Bev Hughes Clinical Skills Centre provide a strong foundation for specialists with a passion for teaching.
The WCVM is western Canada’s regional college of veterinary medicine. It is part of a comprehensive academic health sciences group on the university campus, with access to facilities
including the PET-CT, Canadian Light Source and the Biomedical Beamline and Saskatchewan Centre for Cyclotron Sciences. For further information, please visit

The Veterinary Medical Centre is currently a state-of-the-art facility serving western Canada as an AVMA and AAHA accredited hospital and referral centre for all species with a primary
care practice.
Available on site are well-appointed operating rooms, 320 slice CT, 1.5T MRI, ICU and linear accelerator (with SRT and IMRT). We currently provide sedation and anesthesia services for small and
large animal medicine and surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, neurology, oncology, medical imaging, elective surgery and for exotic/zoo animals. We also provide support to the ICU with a Datex-Ohmeda Centiva and a GE Healthcare R860 ICU ventilators. Research
equipment includes lithium dilution and thermodilution cardiac output monitors and nociceptive threshold devices. For more information, please visit

Qualifications
Applicants must possess a DVM degree or its equivalent and must be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Saskatchewan. The successful candidate should be a Diplomate
of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) or have credentials acceptable to the ACVECC at the time the appointment becomes effective. Diplomate status in the ACVECC is required for tenure. Possession of an advanced research
degree is desirable.
Salary bands for this position are as follows:
Assistant Professor: $93,293 to $112,109; Associate Professor: $112,109 to $130,925; and Professor $130,925 to $152,877.
