The School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Department of Clinical Studies – New Bolton Center invites applications for a full-time faculty member, specializing in large animal radiology and other aspects of large animal diagnostic imaging. 

This position is in the Clinician Educator (CE) Track or may be in a newly created Academic Clinician Track, is available immediately, and is at the Assistant Professor level. The candidate must have a veterinary degree and be ACVR/ECVDI board certified (preferred) or eligible.  This unique position encompasses teaching, clinical service and, in the CE Track the ability to pursue creative scholarly activity in your area of interest at the world-renown George D. Widener Large Animal Veterinary Hospital at New Bolton Center, located in picturesque Chester County in the heart of Pennsylvania’s horse country.  While emphasis will be placed on candidates with solid clinical experience and expertise in large animal diagnostic radiology (dedicated suite and experienced support staff within main hospital with 4 digital radiology systems [Canon distributed by Vetrocket], 4 viewing workstations, 2500 studies/year, RIS [Fuji] and Phillips PACS), extensive opportunities exist for independent and collaborative clinical study and research in the area of ultrasonographic imaging (dedicated building and staff, caseload of 1000 studies/year, 2 machines dedicated to echocardiography with stress test capabilities, color Doppler, spectral Doppler, tissue Doppler, and strain, 2 machines dedicated to musculoskeletal, abdominal and thoracic imaging, 2 portable machines and focused extracorporeal shock wave therapy), nuclear medicine (dedicated building and enthusiastic support staff, 330 studies/year, motion correction, qualitative and quantitative analysis), magnetic resonance imaging (dedicated room and separate viewing area and support staff, 0.25 T Esaote MRI system [Vet MR Grande], expanding caseload) and computed tomography (Ceretom Otoscan 25cm FOV, distributed by Neurologica).  Collaborative opportunities are available with veterinary radiologists in our Small Animal Hospital and the Medical School.
