The Center for Veterinary Health Sciences at Oklahoma State University is seeking qualified applicants for an open position as Director of the Boren Veterinary Medical Hospital (BVMH).

The position is available as tenure track or non-tenure track and academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications. A DVM or equivalent degree and experience in personnel management and budget oversight are required for this position. Board certification by an AVMA recognized specialty and/or an MBA or other business degree are preferred.

The BVMH Director reports directly to the Dean of Veterinary Medicine. She/he will provide overall leadership, supervision, promotion and administration of the BVMH including hospital budget, patient care services, hospital staff and evaluation of the faculty member's assignments to directed service programs in the BVMH.

Applicants should also possess effective team building and communication skills. The director will be expected to actively engage with grateful clients and stakeholders as well as work with the OSU Foundation to identify potential donors. The hospital director will work closely with the department head of the Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department to address faculty related items in the hospital.

The BVMH is a 145,000 square foot, full-service veterinary teaching hospital providing 24 hour/day care for all domestic and selected exotic and wild life species. Approximately 21 faculty, 24 house officers, and 63 staff members provide surgical and medical care for more than 15,500 clinical cases/year. The BVMH provides tertiary care for a referral area including Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, and all of Oklahoma.
