The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Health Sciences, Oklahoma State University is working to expand our Small Animal Emergency Service.  We are seeking two, enthusiastic emergency doctors with a passion for teaching to join our team.  Successful candidates will provide instruction, consultation, and patient care at the Boren Veterinary Medical Hospital.  Candidates will have the opportunity to actively participate in one-on-one training of veterinary interns and students, as well as work alongside veterinary specialists to provide clients and patients with the highest standard of care.  Duty hours are flexible, and full- or part-time positions will be considered; experience is preferred in small animal emergency care.  Applicants must have a DVM degree (or equivalent) and be licensed or eligible for faculty license to practice veterinary medicine in Oklahoma.

The BVMH is a 145,000 square foot, full-service veterinary teaching hospital providing 24 hour care for all domestic and selected exotic and wild life species. The BMVH admits more than 15,500 clinical cases per year, and hospitalizes 5-8 ICU cases per day.  Our Intensive Care Unit is a state-of-the-art facility and is fully staffed with capable, competent technicians.  Technology available for after-hours care includes, but is not limited to, oxygen cages, pulse oximetry, I-Stat point-of-care testing, telemetry, blood pressure and CVP monitoring, Pleur-Evac suction units, and ventilator therapy.  Successful candidates will have the opportunity to interact with over 17 specialty faculty members in the small animal hospital, as well as a supportive group of house officers, including rotating interns, specialty interns, and residents.

Stillwater is located in north-central Oklahoma, approximately 60 miles from Tulsa and Oklahoma City. With an area population of approximately 45,000 residents and a low cost of living, Stillwater was recently named one of the best small towns in America and OSU has been named one of the friendliest college campuses. Numerous leisure activities are available including camping, hiking, golf, tennis, state parks, lakes for boating and fishing, theater productions, rodeos, the excitement of the Big XII sporting events, and more.
