The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure track or clinical track, assistant, associate, or full professor in Small Animal Internal Medicine.  Applicants must hold a D.V.M. or equivalent degree and be eligible for certification or certified as a Diplomate by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Small Animal Internal Medicine (ACVIM-SAIM). The successful candidate should be committed to academia and dedicated to contributing to a high quality teaching program.  Individuals with advanced degrees and/or special training or practice experience are encouraged to apply.

 

The successful candidate will be joining a service of three other internists with specialty support in oncology, cardiology, and dermatology. Candidates will be expected to participate in clinical service, veterinary and graduate student instruction, and collaborative research in support of the academic missions of the College, Department and Veterinary Health Center.  Directed clinical service activities include management of referral internal medicine cases, emergencies, and consults within the VHC, as well as mentoring of house officers and students in patient evaluation and management.  Teaching responsibilities include instruction of veterinary students, interns, and residents in both clinical rounds and lecture environments. 

 

The Veterinary Health Center at Kansas State University includes an endoscopy suite and is home to a state of the art radiology facility which includes large and small animal computed and digital radiology, state-of-the-art ultrasound, in-house 16 slice helical CT, and expecting a new 3T Toshiba magnet. 

The starting date for the position is negotiable.  Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and qualifications.
