Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Large Animal Medicine
The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, invites applications for a clinical-track, full-time
faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Large Animal Medicine. Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree. Candidates who have passed the General ACVIM examination will be considered. Demonstrated experience and proficiency
in the practice of advanced large animal medicine is required. The appointee will join an experienced medicine section consisting of 3 ACVIM board-certified clinicians. The large animal medicine service is located in a comprehensive teaching hospital and
referral center with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, and includes the nation’s first referral equine neonatal intensive care facility. The caseload is predominantly referral. The caseload is about 60 % equine with the balance of cases small ruminants,
New World camelids, and production livestock. The appointee’s teaching responsibilities will include didactic, laboratory, and clinical teaching of professional students and residents. The appointee would be assigned approximately 75% time in clinics and
teaching. Opportunities for independent or collaborative research activities exist. The appointee is expected to be involved in professional outreach, committee service, and curriculum development.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
