Cardiology: Clinical Assistant Professor of Cardiology, Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences.
The University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine, is seeking applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor position in veterinary cardiology. Applicants should have a DVM or equivalent degree. Diplomate status in the American or European
College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Specialty of Cardiology is preferred but those individuals qualified to sit the certifying examination will also be considered. The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences has a strong program with successful residency
training programs in cardiology, interventional cardiovascular therapies and close collaborative ties with the College of Medicine pediatric and adult cardiology programs located across the street. State‐of‐the‐art equipment and facilities currently available
include GE Vivid 7 and E9 Doppler echocardiographic machines with multiple transducers (including 2 multiplane transesophageal probes), multiple pacemaker programmers, Holter recording and computer analyzing software and Event recording. Echocardiographic
images are managed via 4 GE EchoPacs stations. The Small Animal Hospital has a newly built 100,000 ft2 facility in addition to a recently renovated 25,000 ft2
facility with a $1 million dollar Toshiba cardiac catheterization laboratory. Other imaging modalities available in the hospital include nuclear imaging, MRI and CT scanning.
