ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE/FULL PROFESSOR

SMALL ANIMAL SURGERY

 

The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Oklahoma State University Center for Veterinary Health Sciences invites applications for two tenure track or clinical track faculty positions in Small Animal Surgery.  These positions can be oriented towards either orthopedic or soft tissue specialized surgeons, or surgeons interested in a combined spectrum of surgery. Duties will include teaching and clinical service in the Small Animal Surgery (SAS) Service of the Veterinary Medical Hospital, training of residents and interns, and didactic lectures and laboratory instruction for veterinary students. Development of innovative teaching programs and interest in primary investigator or collaborative research/scholarship in small animal surgery is expected in proportion with the type of appointment and extent of clinical service.  A DVM degree or equivalent is required.  Board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) is highly desirable; however candidates qualified to take the ACVS certification examination will be considered.  Appointment will be at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.  Professional rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.  Qualified candidates may be eligible for an endowed chair in Small Animal Surgery, as well as Chief of Small Animal Surgery.
