Applications are invited for a term sabbatical leave replacement faculty position in Medical Oncology at the level of Assistant Professor in the Department of Small Animal Clinical
Sciences beginning July 1, 2016, or when the successful candidate is available.
The Western College of Veterinary Medicine: The WCVM is western Canada’s regional college of veterinary
medicine. Approximately 80 students from the four western provinces and the northern jurisdictions are admitted each year to the DVM program. The College also includes 140 graduate students, interns and residents. It is part of a comprehensive academic
health sciences group on the university campus, with access to facilities including the PET-CT, Canadian Light Source and the Biomedical Beamline. For further information, please visit

The Veterinary Medical Centre: The VMC is currently a state-of-the-art AVMA and AAHA accredited hospital
and referral centre serving western Canada and offering specialty services and undergraduate and graduate training in
anesthesia, dentistry, exotics and wildlife, internal medicine, medical imaging, oncology,ophthalmology, radiation oncology and surgery.
A newer CT, 1.5T MRI and nuclear scintigraphy are available on site. The radiation oncology unit has a Varian Clinac 21EX, ARIA and Eclipse treatment planning system and staffing includes a board certified medical oncologist, radiation oncologist and radiation

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate include: high quality instruction in oncology to undergraduate and postgraduate veterinarians, participation in the clinical teaching
and clinical service programs of the Small Animal Clinic of the Veterinary Medical Centre, and scholarship in oncology. Opportunities for research exist within the section, and through collaboration within the College, College of Medicine, and Saskatoon Cancer
Centre. Contributions to the continuing education of practicing veterinarians will be encouraged and expected.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a DVM degree or its equivalent and must be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Saskatchewan.
The successful candidate must be a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology) or have credentials acceptable to the ACVIM (Oncology) at the time the appointment becomes
effective. Possession of an advanced degree is desirable.
Salary & Benefits:
The salary range for an Assistant Professor is $93,293.00 to $112,109.00. This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package which includes life insurance (compulsory and voluntary), sick leave,
