POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

 

Position:               Equine Field Services Clinical Instructor Position, Full time, 100% clinical

Qualifications: Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree and a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an equine or majority equine (>50%) mixed practice. Applicants with board certification, certification in complementary therapies such as acupuncture or chiropractics, or completion of a residency in a discipline applicable to equine field services may be given greater consideration. 

 

Duties:             The clinical track appointee will devote approximately 90% effort to professional practice and 10% towards scholarly activity, didactic teaching and service. The appointee must have a commitment to excellence in professional practice and teaching. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, training fourth year veterinary students, residents and interns, working a flexible schedule, sharing emergency duty with other faculty, and didactic/ laboratory teaching (dependent upon interest/expertise of the candidate). The successful candidate will work with other Field Services clinicians to ensure coverage of client and emergency needs. Specific responsibilities of this position include providing excellent client service, building the equine case load, expanding the equine primary health-care program within the practice area, and providing support for the veterinary medical center and referral hospital. Strong interpersonal skills and a committed desire to work with current faculty to expand services to existing and new clients are essential. The successful candidate will work with faculty to provide outreach programs for the equine owning-public throughout the region. 

 

Salary:             Commensurate with training and experience
