Field Service Equine, Academic Clinician (AC)
Job Description: A full-time non-tenure track Faculty, Field Service, Academic Clinician (AC) position with an equine focus is available in the Department of Clinical Studies at New Bolton Center, the large animal hospital for the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. The successful candidate will join our collaborative team of 2 board certified clinicians and 1 staff veterinarian to help expand and provide high quality clinical service to local equine farms serviced by Field Service, and teach veterinary students on clinical rotations.
Responsibilities: Daily practice obligations will include cases typical of ambulatory practice such as lameness, field surgery, herd health, internal medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry, and reproduction. Our practice serves a diverse population of performance and recreational horses, as well as family pets. A fully stocked ambulatory truck will be provided and digital radiography, ultrasonography, 1 meter endoscopy, dynamic endoscopy, and powerfloats are available. This position will rotate with other equine Field Service clinicians in the emergency schedule.
Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are a DVM/VMD or equivalent degree and three years of clinical practice with the ability to be licensed in PA, MD, and DE. We welcome applicants from private

New Bolton Center is the large animal campus of the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine and is located ~ 40 miles southwest of the Philadelphia main campus in beautiful picturesque Chester County horse country. The position is available on July 1, 2015.

Staff Veterinarian, Field Service
Job Description:
A full-time staff veterinarian position with a food animal focus is available in Field Service in the Department of Clinical Studies at New Bolton Center, the large animal hospital for the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Minimal qualifications are a recognized DVM/VMD degree with the requirement of obtaining licensure in Pennsylvania/Delaware/Maryland and 3+ years’ experience in food animal practice. Advanced clinical training and/or board certification is desirable. The Field Service section provides services to a broad base of clients, including large and small dairies, beef cattle operations (mainly cow/calf), specialty niche farms, and small ruminants.
Responsibilities Include: Providing clinical and emergency service to food animal clients in Field Service. Emergency coverage will consist of one week night per week and one weekend per month of after hour coverage. Teaching of veterinary students in both a didactic and clinical setting. A specific focus of the staff veterinarian will be to provide a broad approach to animal health through the education of veterinary students and producers on relevant topics related to food safety, animal health/well-being and prudent antimicrobial use. Clinical training of food animal interns and residents. Supporting and collaborating on research programs of senior faculty.
