The Western College of Veterinary Medicine: The WCVM is western Canada’s regional college of veterinary
medicine. Approximately 80 students from the four western provinces and the northern jurisdictions are admitted each year to the DVM program. The College also includes 140 graduate students, interns and residents. It is part of a comprehensive academic

The Veterinary Medical Centre: The Veterinary Medical Centre at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine has recently undergone major renovations in response to our growing caseload in small, large and exotic/wildlife patients. The advanced imaging equipment upgrades for large and small animals include a 16 slice Toshiba Aquilon multidetector CT scanner, Millennium MPR/MPS Gamma Camera with Genie AcQ software, Philips BV Pulsera C-arm Fluoroscope, Philips iU22 and Philips HD-11 XE ultrasound machines with multiple specialized probes, AGFA CR and Eklin DR. Our exciting MRI technology includes in-house Siemens Harmony 1.5 Tesla MRI for small animals with installation of equine MRI in the brand new Ryan-Dube Equine Performance Centre. The McKesson Horizon Medical Imaging PACS provides access throughout the College for consultation, diagnosis and teaching on clinical and research cases. A dedicated Osirix workstation is also available in the radiology department for advanced MPR and 3-D imaging. Installation of a Clinac 21EX 6MV linear accelerator with electron capability and a 120 leaf Millenium multileaf collimator allowing intensity modulated and stereotactic radiation therapy in addition to conformal radiation therapy is nearing completion. Oncology faculty include a radiation oncologist and medical oncologist and support staff includes a full-time radiation therapist.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the successful candidate include: Quality instruction in medical imaging to undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary students; participation and organizational
responsibility in the clinical teaching and service programs of the Veterinary Medical Centre; and contributions to continuing education. Scholarship and clinical research in medical imaging will be encouraged and expected.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a DVM degree or its equivalent and must be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Saskatchewan. Candidates must have diplomate status or credentials
acceptable to the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR) or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) at the time the appointment becomes effective. Diplomate status in ACVR or ECVDI is required for tenure.
Salary & Benefits:
The current salary range for an Assistant Professor is $88,798.00 to $112,678.00, for an Associate Professor it is $106,708.00 to $130,588.00, and for a Full Professor is $124,618.00 to $145,513.00.
