The Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University seeks applications for a 12-month non-tenure track Assistant Professor in Veterinary Ophthalmology.

 

The CSU Ophthalmology Service within the James L Voss Veterinary Teaching Hospital is a busy clinical service seeing approximately 3,000 cases a year that include dogs, cats, and horses as well as livestock/camelids, exotics, and zoo/aquarium/wildlife species. The successful candidate will participate in the clinical and didactic instructional activities of the professional veterinary medicine and post-graduate training programs related to ophthalmology as well as provide service to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital. This faculty position will be responsible for 34-weeks of clinical service. This involves coordination of the ophthalmology service, providing clinical care of patients, teaching veterinary medical students, training ophthalmology residents and interns, providing nighttime and weekend back-up for ophthalmology residents and consultation with referring veterinarians and pet owners. The candidate is expected to participate in collaborative research activities that will contribute toward scholarly development and productivity in disciplines related to veterinary ophthalmology. The successful candidate is expected to provide service to the community, University and Veterinary Teaching Hospital and will demonstrate the ability to advance the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through research, teaching and outreach with relevant programs, goals, and activities.
