Assist/ Assoc/ Full Professor of Companion Animal Surgery
The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Louisiana State University is searching for a Companion Animal Surgeon to be ranked
as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor with a clinical, tenure track, or tenure academic appointment. Opportunities exist for activity split between
orthopedic/neurologic and soft tissue/oncologic surgery or exclusively on soft tissue surgery.
Clinical Track Position Requirements
70% - Participation in the Companion Animal Surgery Service of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and cooperate with other clinical faculty
in clinical teaching and hospital practice; support the emergency service through provision or supervision of companion animal surgery.
30% - Scholarly activities to include teaching and collaborative research
Tenure Track/ Tenure Position Requirements
50% - Participation in the Companion Animal Surgery Service of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and cooperate with other clinical faculty
in clinical teaching and hospital practice; support the emergency service through provision or supervision of companion animal surgery.
50% - Scholarly activities to include teaching and independent research
Minimum Qualifications (all academic appointments):
Assistant Professor:
DVM or equivalent & must have successfully completed a residency training program accredited by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) &
must be eligible for board certification by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) or the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS)
Associate Professor:
DVM or equivalent with five years of related
teaching/research/clinical experience & must be board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) and/or the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS)
Full Professor:
DVM or equivalent with eight years of related
teaching/research/clinical experience & must be board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) and/or the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS)
