Oregon State University, Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants a full-time, clinical or tenure track Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery, with an earliest start date of January 1st, 2021. The emphasis of this position is orthopedic surgery; some soft tissue surgery may be considered, depending on the goals of the applicant.

Required: DVM or comparable degree and completion of an ACVS-certified residency. Must possess clinical experience in small animal orthopedic and spinal surgery and have excellent patient care and communication skills. Preference may be given to those with ACVS certification, experience in research and teaching, an interest in sports medicine and rehabilitation, skills or interest in obtaining skills in advance orthopedic techniques, including minimally invasive surgery and total joint arthroplasty, and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. Final year residents are welcome to apply and dedicated time for board preparation can be made available. 

Successful candidates will run a surgery service with students and house officers. They will interface with other clinical services including Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Anesthesiology, and Oncology. Research and teaching are also integral parts of this position.
