Qualifications:
The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for a
non-tenure track or tenure track, Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor. The person in this position must have a
DVM or equivalent degree from an accredited college of veterinary medicine and must be board certified or board eligible in a relevant large animal specialty (e.g. American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, American College of Veterinary
Surgeons, American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine). Candidates must have experience in large animal emergency and intensive care.
Duties:
The person in this position will provide
after-hours clinical emergency and intensive care service for large animal patients,
clinical supervision and teaching of veterinary students assigned to emergency services, and
mentoring and training of house officers. The person in this position will provide emergency services for the large animal hospital on weekdays and weekends/holidays on a rotating basis with other faculty. The faculty member will be assigned to clinical
duties approximately 65% time with the remaining time assigned to teaching, service, and scholarship. Clinical duties include diagnostic evaluations, diagnoses, medical or surgical therapy, intensive care and monitoring, and client communication. The individual
in this position will coordinate the Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care clinical rotation for senior students, and work closely with faculty in providing continuity of care for patients and service to clients. This appointment includes extensive
benefits, vacation, and sick leave. Support is also available for professional development and travel.
