Clinical Assistant Professor of Large Animal Medicine
The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Florida, invites
applications for a full-time clinical track faculty position in Large Animal Medicine. The University is located in Gainesville, a vibrant community in north central Florida, with a warm sub-tropical climate. Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the practice of advanced large animal medicine is required. Excellent communication skills are essential. The appointee will join an experienced medicine section consisting of 6 ACVIM board-certified faculty and
3 residents. The large animal medicine service is part of a large and comprehensive teaching hospital and referral center with excellent facilities and equipment. The caseload is predominantly referral, and is approximately 60% equine. The balance of cases
are small ruminants, South American camelids, and production livestock. The successful candidate would be assigned approximately 80% time in clinics and teaching, including didactic, laboratory, and clinical teaching of professional students and residents.
The balance of the assignment would include time for research and service. All faculty are expected to be involved in professional outreach, committee service, and curriculum development. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant's qualifications and
experience.
