We have an excellent and cordial working and collaborative relationship with our internists, orthopedic and soft tissue surgeons, ophthalmologists, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, clinical and
anatomic pathologists, anesthesiologists, cardiology service, primary care service, emergency and critical care service, exotics and wildlife service and integrative medicine service, not to mention our equine and food animal services. We are happy to see
and consult on a wide variety of species. Ample opportunities exist for collaboration with both clinical and basic science faculty.
We anticipate moving into a brand new purpose-designed 40,000 square foot building adjacent to the main Veterinary Teaching Hospital in late 2020. This building will include the Dermatology, Primary Care, Ophthalmology, Integrative Medicine,
and Theriogenology services, as well as faculty and house officer office and meeting space, outpatient pharmacy and clinical teaching laboratories. The Dermatology service will have a spacious examination and treatment area with natural light (immediately
adjacent to a dedicated multimedia rounds room), as well as dedicated patient housing and client consultation rooms.
Other facilities at the LSU SVM include a full-service state of the art radiology suite (including digital radiography and fluoroscopy, picture archiving and communication system as well as ultrasound, CT and MRI capabilities for both large
and small animals), a brand-new state of the art linear accelerator and radiation therapy suite, a newly constructed animal diagnostic laboratory and a freshly remodeled laboratory animal facility. We have also recently launched a comprehensive, searchable
medical records system.
