The Department of Clinical Sciences at the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a tenure-track/tenured Assistant or Associate Professor of Cardiology.

 

Position Information:  This position is designed primarily to provide consistently excellent, innovative, and diligent clinical service and teaching to NC State’s clients, patients, students, and house officers. The position will also support hospital-based clinical research efforts. The successful applicant will possess special expertise in echocardiographic and cardiac catheterization techniques. Specifically, the person filling this position will: Develop, practice, and share expertise in cardiac interventional therapies, including invasive electrophysiologic diagnostics and treatments. Develop, practice, and share expertise in noninvasive cardiac diagnostics. Be involved with interdepartmental and inter-institutional collaborations and will participate in the scholarly life and culture of the VH and NC State by timely publication of clinical innovations and active participation in ongoing clinical trials. Participate in (and play a leadership role in some) residency and internship training activities, including board preparation seminars and rounds, journal clubs, and book clubs. Teach the principles and practice (as opportunities arise) of veterinary cardiology in the professional veterinary curriculum.

Serve the Department of Clinical Sciences by participating in faculty governance, departmental administrative initiatives, and college committees.

 

Qualifications:  Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited college of veterinary medicine and the completion of an American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) or European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ECVIM) accredited residency program in cardiology.
