Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure-track) in Large Animal Medicine
The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, invites applications
for a tenure-track, full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Large Animal Medicine. The CVM is part of an academic health center with six health-related colleges and seven major health-related research centers and institutes
and is allied with the academic animal science programs of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, all housed on a single contiguous campus. Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree. Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the practice of
advanced large animal medicine is required. A post-graduate degree or equivalent research experience is required. The appointee will join an experienced medicine section consisting of 6 ACVIM board-certified clinicians. The large animal medicine service
is located in a comprehensive teaching hospital and referral center with excellent facilities and equipment. The caseload is predominantly referral and is about 65 % equine, with the balance of cases involving small ruminants, camelids, and production livestock.
The appointee’s teaching responsibilities will include didactic, laboratory, and clinical teaching of professional students and residents. The appointee would be expected to develop a funded research program that includes collaboration with other scientists,
advisement of graduate students, and publication in peer-reviewed journals. All faculty are expected to be involved in professional outreach, committee service, and curriculum development. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications
