Assistant/Associate Professor of Comparative Ophthalmology (Tenure Track) JPF02699
Veterinarian with advanced training in ophthalmology and board certification by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists/American Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology required. A PhD with advanced research
training in vision science and documented research record or potential as a creative scientist and potential to advance the field of vision science are required. Training and experience in cell and molecular biology with application to vision science is required.
Demonstrated aptitude or experience in clinical instruction of DVM students and residents, and patient management in veterinary ophthalmology is required. Demonstrated aptitude or experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in the classroom and/or
laboratory is preferred. Demonstrated success in securing extramural funding is preferred. Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.
A valid license to practice veterinary medicine in California is required before employment (California Business and Professions Code Section 4846-4857). Individuals not eligible
for a full California license must obtain a University License (California Business and Professions Code Section 4848.1) by the time of appointment.
