The Department of Clinical Sciences at the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a non-tenure track Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Critical Care. 

 

Position Information:  The Department invites knowledgeable emergency and critical care clinician candidates with an interest and enthusiasm for house officer and student training to apply. The selected individual will provide Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care services and patient care as an Assistant Clinical Professor. Participation in DVM and house officer education, continuing education, public relations programs, and committees of the College of Veterinary Medicine are required. Research and scholarly activity in the field of small animal emergency and critical care medicine is also expected. Candidates experienced with extracorporeal therapies are preferred.

 

Additional responsibilities include general surgery emergency coverage on 2-3 nights per month as well as one major holiday a year (all major holidays divided amongst faculty), and provision of back-up support for emergency orthopedic cases when on clinic duty.

 

Qualifications:  A DVM or equivalent degree and a completed residency in Emergency and Critical Care are required.  In addition to the required qualifications, preference will be given to candidates with Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care (ACVECC) and/or experience in extracorporeal therapy (dialysis and therapeutic plasma exchange).
