The Department of Clinical Sciences at the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Assistant or Associate Professor of Dermatology. The department will also consider qualified applicants interested in entering the role as an Assistant Clinical (non-tenure track) Professor.

 

Position Information: The selected candidate will work with two other dermatologists to provide effective patient care and valued learning experiences for veterinary students, residents, graduate students, and veterinary practitioners. The faculty member will also participate in clinical responsibilities of the Dermatology service in the NC State Veterinary Hospital; including organizing and supervising daily activities of students, staff and house officers as well as patient care.  The chosen candidate is expected to participate in continuing education, public relations programs, and committees in the College of Veterinary Medicine.  The person in this role is expected to be a productive, collegial, and active member of the Dermatology Service.

 

For candidates desiring a tenure/tenure track appointment, development and funding of an independent research program is required as well as active collaboration with other members of NC State’s Comparative Medicine Institute.

 

Qualifications:  The position requires a DVM (or equivalent degree) and eligibility for veterinary licensure (or faculty certification) in North Carolina. Position also requires completion of a residency approved by the American or European Colleges of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD or ECVD).

 

In addition to the requirements noted above, Diplomate status in the American or European Colleges of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD or ECVD) is preferred.  A related PhD, or PhD candidate status (in additional to the required DVM or equivalent degree) is preferred for candidates interested in a tenure track position.
