Opening for a Clinical Assistant Professor in Cardiology at Tufts University.
The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University invites applications for a clinical-track faculty position in cardiology. Anticipated percentage time allocations for this position are 75% clinical service and 25% academic
time. Requirements include a DVM degree or its equivalent and completion of an American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine-Cardiology residency or a European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Cardiology residency. Rank and salary will be commensurate
with training and experience. Strengths are required in clinical service.
This new position has been created to allow for 2 cardiology services to work concurrently. One service will see appointments while the other service manages in-house consults and hospitalized cases A variety of cardiovascular research
opportunities exist on campus and in the Boston area. Our service has a strong interventional caseload with cardiac catheterization procedures occurring almost every week. The cardiology service collaborates with many other services in the small and large
animal teaching hospitals; the service also enjoys a strong referral base.
The selected candidate will join three other ACVIM Cardiology diplomates on the Cardiology Service within the Foster Hospital for Small Animals in North Grafton, MA, as well as the Hospital for Large Animals. Faculty provide care to animals
with cardiac disease, including working with our 2 cardiology residents to provide emergency coverage for cardiac cases. During the academic time, the successful candidate may give up to 7 hours of lectures to students, assist in resident training, participate
in research, or provide other service to the school or university.
